What is the most exciting opportunity for special needs children in our community?

If you haven’t already heard, it’s Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center!

Recreational venues and opportunities are very limited for special needs youth in our community. For older children and adolescents, the options are even more restricted. Many sports and recreational activities that are appropriate for this age range (5-17) are not accessible or available for the special needs population. Disability-specific camps, when available and affordable, are usually limited to a weekend or a week during the summer. The scope of Dream Catchers’ program services extends across the spectrum of special needs. Therapeutic horseback riding can be an accessible option for children or adults of any disability type.

We need your help to continue to provide special needs children and adolescents the recreational activities and therapeutic opportunities they need and deserve!

Dream Catchers needs your donation!
Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center provides therapeutic riding lessons at our beautiful 22-acre, 10-stall facility in Toano. We are truly grateful to our community for the tremendous support in building a permanent home for our program. This facility will eventually allow us to accommodate up to 400 unique riders per year, not to mention develop programs through shared services with community partners.

Support for our programs and clients demonstrate their strong commitment to the greater Williamsburg community. Their financial contributions to the Center’s annual operating fund help maintain the excellence that is our hallmark.

Contributions are used to feed and care for our program horses, maintain the quality of our facilities and staff our program with NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) certified instructors. In addition, these funds will be used to increase our capacity at all levels over the next two years so that we may serve more children who will greatly benefit from therapeutic riding.

By becoming a Dream Catchers’ supporter through your tax-deductible gift, companies and individuals will be honored within our facility and associated with every important aspect of the Center’s publicity for an entire fiscal year. In addition, corporate partners may customize their sponsorships to meet their specific philanthropic, marketing and/or employee interests.

Giving opportunities are listed below for your review.

On behalf of everyone at Dream Catchers, we appreciate your help in our continued success in serving the Greater Williamsburg Community.

Donations
Tax-deductible donations are critical to sustain our program.

You can help in a number of ways:

  • Sponsor students and/or horses:
Rider fees only cover about one-third of our annual costs
  • Contribute to our Capital Campaign to help with our expansion plans to build a larger facility so that we can serve more students, build an indoor arena, and provide wooded riding trails
  • Create a legacy:
Planned giving can maximize your personal objectives while minimizing the after-tax cost of the gift
  • Give to our annual fund
