Volunteer Spotlight
Krysta Smith
We are happy to highlight a very special junior volunteer, Krysta Smith. Krysta is seventeen years old, is home-schooled, and lives in Williamsburg.
Krysta began to volunteer at Dream Catchers during November of 2008 and quickly became a core member of the Saturday team. She currently volunteers on Wednesday evenings and Saturdays, and works with a variety of horses and students. Krysta not only assists in the lessons but comes in early each day to help the barn crew with the horses. She is always asking if there is any thing she can do between lessons and constantly is seeking to improve her understanding of therapeutic riding and of horse behavior. Her favorite part of being a lesson volunteer is seeing how hard the horses work to benefit the students. Krysta loves to learn, loves to help, and never backs down from any challenge.
Recently she has begun to pursue a job as a veterinary assistant.
Thank you, Krysta, for all you do for our program! You are truly a valued member of the Dream Catchers family.
